How chlorophyll from matcha affects our body?

How chlorophyll from matcha affects our body?

You probably remember your parents or teachers in your childhood telling you “Green is healthy", which meant if you want to be healthy, you should eat a lot of vegetables. Even Popeye ate spinach all the time, which gave him strength - messages even came from cartoons. A plate full of broccoli, peas, green beans, or spinach may have been a favorite for someone, but mostly not. Now that we've grown up, we all know that green really is healthy.

The green color in vegetables and fruits is green plant pigment or chlorophyll. It is precious to the plant because it serves to create essential nutritional values. It is with the help of chlorophyll, water, and carbon dioxide in the process of photosynthesis that the plant converts sunlight into glucose, starch, and cellulose, in other words into food and energy for its growth. And what is very important, and you probably remember from school, oxygen is also created through photosynthesis.

In addition to green vegetables, fruits, and algae such as spirulina and chlorella or alpha seeds, there is a high proportion of chlorophyll in matcha powder.

Because of the way matcha is grown, in the shade just before picking, the reduction in sunlight induces an increase in the concentration of chlorophyll in the plant to produce nutrients.

Quality matcha owes its intense green color to this process. Statistics show that matcha contains about 5.8 times more chlorophyll than green tea.

Besides the fact that chlorophyll is known as plant blood, its molecular composition is very similar to hemoglobin in human blood, which was discovered in 1930 by Nobel Prize winner Hans Fischer. We can only guess how many health benefits there are for people. In particular, it is proven to be an antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties, which has a whole range of potential positive effects on our bodies.

OXYGENIZES THE BLOOD AND ALKALINIZES THE ORGANISM
Chlorophyll acts like hemoglobin in the human body, helping to build and restore red blood cells and transport oxygen throughout the body. As it makes the blood alkaline, it is an excellent alkalizer for the body, preventing the growth of bad microorganisms that are normally present in an acidic environment.

IT HAS A POSITIVE EFFECT ON IMMUNITY
Due to the high content of antioxidants, chlorophyll reduces inflammation in the body, having a positive effect on immunity, and some believe that it also increases energy. It works to heal wounds when applied topically.

DETOXIFIES AND REMOVES HEAVY METALS
Chlorophyll has the property of cleansing the body thanks to the fact that it is a very important chelator. This means that it has the property of binding heavy metals to itself, which are then more easily eliminated from the body. It also binds toxins in the liver and influences its health, although additional research is needed for this claim.

IMPROVES DIGESTION
It effectively cleanses the digestive system, which then improves the health of the intestines but also promotes weight loss. We all know that pets often instinctively eat grass (rich in chlorophyll) precisely when they have stomach problems.

ANTI-AGE EFFECT – prevents cell damage that causes premature aging and is also effective in acne problems.

IT IS CONSIDERED TO PREVENT CERTAIN TYPES OF CANCER - thanks to its ability to bind carcinogenic substances to DNA in the liver and other organs.

IT IS A SOURCE OF NUTRITIONAL VALUES - as magnesium is in the center of the chlorophyll molecule (like iron in hemoglobin), it is a good source of this valuable mineral, as well as iron, calcium, vitamins A, C, E, and K, folic acid, and protein.

During longer thermal processing of green vegetables, part of the chlorophyll is lost, while supplements often contain chlorophyllin (a semi-synthetic chemical mixture) or come in the form of liquid chlorophyll, for which there are no studies or data on whether the body can digest it as such. As natural is the best, chlorophyll from matcha is a safe form of consumption, and it has been proven that it can be consumed every day with numerous other positive effects on our bodies.
